We believe that children need to leave our school with the core skills and qualities that will equip them well for the next stage in their education as well as in life beyond school. Our aim is that children at St Mary and St Michael Primary School will become confident, lifelong learners. We can only do this successfully if we work together and have a positive partnership between home and school.
Throughout the year there are many events and celebrations that we invite parents to, for example; class assemblies, mass, sports day, mini Wimbledon, harvest festival, Passion Play, poetry recitals, sharing a book with your child, EYFS mum’s morning and F.U.D.G.E (Father’s, uncles, dads, grandads, etc any other male playing a significant role in the child’s life).
At the beginning of each term we send out a list of dates of events that parents are invited to. Please also check the weekly newsletter for any additional dates.
All parents and carers are encouraged to take part in adult learning courses, school workshops and volunteering in school.
Charmaine Manning from the Parent and Family Support Service is a Parent Support Practitioner and works in our school on a Tuesday. Charmaine runs a variety of courses and workshops for parents and is also available to offer advice or sign post parents to other agencies on a range of issues from school admissions to housing.
